I love how the Bible is full of poetry. This short verse paints such a beautiful picture of promise for those who fear God. In Micah chapter four, this image of renewal and healing on ‘the day of the Lord’ is held up in contrast to the heavy judgement that God will bring on those who do evil. It is full of light and hope and restoration. The next part of the verse says: “you shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” What a joyful image! It is a comfort to me to think of the time when God will bring complete healing to our bodies and soul; when we’ll be bathed in the radiance of the Son of Righteousness on his return.
